Ready in: 45 minutes
- 2 cups crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
- 3 tbsp melted butter or margarine
- 4 pkg (8 oz each) cream cheese
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled
- ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
Separate 1 egg, putting the egg white aside. Add the yolk and whole egg to mixture. Add the vanilla essence. Mix well.
Sift flour baking powder and cinnamon together. Gradually add that to the cream cheese mixture beating until well blended after each addition.
Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll and shape dough into logs. Place each log on a non stick-baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Using a wooden spoon handle make an indentation in the center of each log about ½ inch deep. Beat the egg white and brush over the logs. Fill with the guava jam.
Bake in preheated oven about 25 – 30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly on wire racks. While still warm, sift the icing sugar over the logs and then cut each log into equal diagonal slices.
