  • 1 tin of corned beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp chives chopped
  • 1 tbsp shadon beni chopped
  • 1 cup cooked mashed potatoes
  • 1½ cups breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup of vegetable oil


  1. Sauté half of the onions in a frying pan until softened, add crushed garlic and corned beef, season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook corn beef for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Beat egg and set aside.
  3. In a bowl mix together corned beef, onions, chives, shadon beni, potatoes and pinch of salt and pepper. Combine ingredients using your hands.
  4. Form small even balls and heat oil in a sauté pan.
  5. Dip the corn beef croquettes in the egg and then breadcrumbs and place in the pan and fry on all sides for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Drain croquettes on a paper towel and serve.
