Complexity: Easy

  • 15 – 20 medium to large fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups semi- sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • White chocolate sprinkles
  • Toothpicks
  • Wax paper

  1. Rinse the strawberries and use a paper towel to pat dry. Remove the leaves and stems from the strawberries. Insert a toothpick into the top of each strawberry and set aside. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
  2. Place the chocolate chips in a small bowl. Heat the cream just before it starts to boil. This can easily be done in a microwave. Add ½ cup of the hot cream to the chocolate chips and let stand for a few seconds.
  3. Stir the chocolate mixture until smooth. If the mixture is too thick add a little more cream.
  4. Dip the strawberries one by one halfway into the chocolate, turing the strawberries in the chocolate to ensure an even coating. Remove and place on the wax paper.
  5. Drizzle with the white sprinkles. Place the berries in the refrigerator for at least half hour for the chocolate to set.
  6. Gently remove from the wax paper and serve on as a dessert on their own or as a garnish for ice cream, cheesecakes and many more.
