Chef Chat with Khalid Mohammed

One of Trinidad and Tobago's most renowned chefs, Khalid Mohammed has blazed a trail in the local culinary industry. The man behind the Chaud Restaurant brand took some time to sit with in our Chef Chat.

TC: What 3 ingredients do you always have in your refrigerator?

KM: Onions, garlic, fresh herbs

TC: What is the first meal you remember cooking?

KM: Corned Beef Burgers

TC: What is your favourite dish to cook?

KM: Pasta. It's easy to cook and make a meal quickly.

TC: Your favorite comfort food?

KM: Doubles

TC: What is the most unusual thing you have ever eaten?

KM: Live octopus

TC: Is there anything thing you don’t like to eat?

KM: I didn't like grapefruit, but I like it now. There really isn't anything that I can say I don't like.

TC: If you were not a chef, what would you be?

KM: Lol! A professional football player with Manchester United!
