  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ pack yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Water
  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

  2. Add a little water at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add enough water to form a sticky, elastic batter.

  3. Heat oil.

  4. Using 2 tablespoons dipped in water, scoop a little batter with one spoon and use the other spoon to slide the batter off the spoon into the hot oil.

  5. Fry until cooked and golden brown.

  6. Drain on paper towels. Serve with mango chutney.
