on Thursday, 04 July 2013. Posted in Events Covered

The Cupcake Challenge was one of the innovative and entertaining additions to the Outlet Market held on the last Saturday of each month. Four cupcake contenders came armed with their creativity and baking skills to impress an esteemed panel of judges.

The judges for the challenge were : Simone Sant-Ghuran of, Tricia Corbin - Oliveire of Brown Box Ltd, Joel Villafana, TV6 Sports Journalist and and Michelle Sohan of Bakery Treatz.

The cupcakes were nervously presented individually by each home baker for the judges to score their cupcakes based on presentation and taste. Giselle Look Kong presented 2 cupcakes to the panel, a Red Velveteen and Passion Pinada.

Lu Ann Harper’s creations were a Carrot Almond cupcake, and a Pineapple Coconut and Pink Champagne.

Shenniah Moore, the youngest entrant at 16 years old, was next in line. Her intriguing flavors were a French Toast Cupcake with Maple Syrup and Bacon, a Tiramisu Cupcake and a Curry cupcake with Lime Frosting.

The final baker was Karlene Chin a Fatt, who made a Chocolate Mocha cupcake and a Coconut Pineapple cupcake.

After some serious deliberation, 16 year old Shenniah Moore was crowned as the winner of Outlet Market's first cupcake challenge with her Curry Cupcake with Lime Frosting.
