Complexity:  Easy


  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large sweet pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb minced meat
  • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 head of cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • ½ cup of chicken stock
  • 4 large potatoes, scrubbed, peeled and chopped in medium cubes
  • 1 tsp chilli powder


  1. Season minced meat with salt, cayenne pepper, chili powder, paprika, all-purpose seasoning.
  2. Heat large frying pan over medium heat; sauté onion and peppers in the butter. Add minced meat and cook. Add chopped cabbage and stir. Pour chicken stock over cabbage. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Add potatoes and stir and combine with cabbage. Cover and allow to simmer for 10 more minutes or until potatoes are tender. Additional water may be added.
  4. Add salt if required to the cabbage and potatoes mixture. Allow to simmer again for another 8 to 10 minutes.
