- 1 loaf ciabatta bread, cut in four and halved
- (You can also use regular bread rolls)
- 12 – 14 cooked meatballs
- Spaghetti /Tomato sauce
- Sauteed vegetables
- Slices of mozarella cheese
- Slices of cheddar cheese
- Pepper sauce and mustard, optional
- Cooking spray
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the 4 bottom halves of the ciabatta on a baking sheet, lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Spread the mustard on the bottom half and then top with slices of cheddar cheese.
Top with the meatballs, average 3 per sandwich, may be more depending on the size of the meatballs. Spoon a little sauce over the meatballs and then the mozarella cheese.
Cover with the top half of the bread and place in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 5 – 7 minutes or just until the mozarella cheese melts.
Remove and serve while still warm.
For the sauteed vegetables: Saute some sweet peppers, onions and mushrooms together and season with a little salt and pepper.
