Complexity:  Medium


  • 1 pack of spaghetti
  • 4-5 strips of bacon
  • 12-15 large peeled, deveined shrimp
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 4-5 blades of chives, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock


  1. In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook pasta. Drain pasta, drizzle with olive oil and set aside.
  2. Season shrimp with salt and pepper, all purpose seasonings and a dash of paprika.
  3. In a large sauté pan, fry bacon until crisp, approximately 6-8 minutes. Remove bacon from pan and transfer to a paper towel. Let drain and dice or crumble bacon. Set aside.
  4. Add onions to the bacon drippings and cook for 2-3 minutes then add garlic and shrimp and toss cook for 2 more minutes until shrimp is cooked. Remove shrimp and set aside. Toss in chives to the same pan, add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Let reduce a little.
  5. Add spaghetti to the pan and then shrimp and gently toss. Add in lime juice and season with salt and pepper, continue to toss until all ingredients are combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  6. Serve in pasta bowls and sprinkle with diced bacon over the top.
