Complexity: Easy


  • 4 pita pocket halves
  • Tuna salad
  • Cheddar Cheese slices
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce, preferably arugula or romaine
  • Avocado slices, optional
  • Mustard
  • Pepper sauce


  1. Open the pita halves and spread some tuna on one half.

  2. Top with 1 or 2 cheese slices. Drizzle or spread a little mustard on the other half of the pita and dot with a little pepper sauce. Place on top of the cheese.

  3. Place in a preheated oven (350 degrees F). Bake for approximately 5 minutes or just until the cheese melts.

  4. Remove from oven. Immediately remove the top half of the sandwich and add the lettuce, tomato slices and avocado if using. Replace the top half and serve immediately.
